Growth Across the Board: 2019 Year in Review
RALEIGH, N.C., (Jan. 13, 2020) – 2019 was a banner year for location data and location-based advertising. It was also a high water mark for Reveal Mobile. With 84 percent of marketers now using location data in campaigns, Reveal Mobile grew revenue more than 80 percent year over year. We welcomed more than 100 new customers in 2019, doubling our number of new accounts from Q1 to Q4.
In addition to our new customer growth, our average monthly recurring revenue per account increased 66 percent, signaling the broad appeal of our products among our customer base. All of these figures are a testament to the value agencies and brands are seeing from our VISIT Local and VISIT Match products.
2019 was a big year for our two core products. In June, we launched foot traffic attribution reporting within VISIT Local, providing agencies and brands with the ability to effectively measure online-to-real-world campaign conversions. We also added support for new demand side platforms (DSPs) so marketers can run location based marketing campaigns everywhere media is bought and served.
For VISIT Match, we added the ability to run location-based analytics and attribution for media on the move, including vehicle wraps, taxi toppers and other mobile assets.
These product advancements led to a round of industry recognition this past year. We received the MarTech Breakthrough Award for Best Location Based Marketing Platform, and we were a finalist for the NCTA best Analytics Platform.
The company was granted its second patent in 2019 for “Determining High Value Geographic Locations,” which covers determining audience locations of interest through the use of machine learning algorithms. We also received notice that our third patent, “Determining Device Quality Score,” has been granted and will be issued this year.
Privacy was a hot topic for location data in 2019 and will continue to be in 2020. In our ongoing efforts to lead the way on location privacy, Reveal Mobile became compliant with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) ahead of the Jan. 1 deadline. We also published a full, plain-English description of how we collect, use and sell location data.
We couldn’t have accomplished these milestones without a strong and growing team. Reveal Mobile increased our headcount by 40 percent in 2019, having added to the sales, marketing, client services and engineering teams. And we continue to look for great talent.
